I have a commitment to bring a common sense, businesslike approach to County government. I believe in free enterprise and that a health economy must have a strong business sector. I will continue working to eliminate job killing regulations.
We balance our County budget every year but are challenged by state and federal overspending. I will continue to make the difficult choices to reduce government to a sustainable size.
Public safety is the top responsibility for government. Expanded state programs drain the available resources to fund our sheriff’s department. I agree with the Grand Jury’s assessment that our public employee pension system is unsustainable and I pledge to continue working with employee groups toward cost saving solutions.
